Alynna /To what extent is Singapore a family-friendly society?

In conjunction with encouraging procreation and starting a family, the Singapore government has implemented a “Five Day Work Week” policy, which enables working adults- parents, in this context, to enjoy a work-life balance. In the past, working overtime and even during the weekends are not uncommon. Having spent a large proportion of their time working, parents are unable to churn out more, or even enough time for leisure, much less spending it with their children. Since the implementation of this policy, the adult workforce now has the weekends, free from all workload, to spend time with their family, fostering stronger family values and ties. As the saying goes, blood is thicker than water. The importance of a family can never be stressed enough. It is a relationship that can never be broken and a fortress to protect one from the outside world, which many seek comfort in knowing that they have that sea of familiar faces to turn to. A family is one that has to be together. Without a pro-family society, families may be broken and torn apart. However, if a family is bonded enough, regardless of whether they live in a family-friendly society or not, nothing should impair this relationship. Living in a family-friendly society is merely an incentive for those who wish to start a family, but does not determine the success of a family.
