the mainpoint of the author are
1. there should be gender balance in the working world
2. it is more of a good than a bad to the society
3. women should run wall street as the reverse is true.
I totally agree the author point of view that women should be given greater leadership role. This can be seen by the fact that many country are having women president or prime minister. This includes the nearest to us, Philipine. We see that the country did not collapse under her hand.... :D

You have questionable points that are not answered here.
ReplyDeleteYour second point states: "It is more of a good than a bad to the society." WHAT may I ask are you referring to here?
Your third point states: "Women should run Wall Street as the reverse is true." Aren't you contradicting yourself over here?
And although I support your stand that women should be given greater roles in leadership, your elaboration of your stand has not make your point convincing at all. Your elaboration is a short example-driven one, which I can rebut by asking you, "SO WHAT?" What is it that you are trying to say here?
I agree that women should be given leadership roles as the article does mention that women and men in leadership roles work together well to produce dividends, which is quite true given the evolution of women's role in society today that allows them to have a say in matters that are important to society today.
Also both men and women have different views, which can allow them to put their heads together and discuss the options before making effective leadership decisions.
Also women unlike the past are now seen as capable to have effective leadership as well as being able to orchestrate resources be it on a minor or large scale towards achieving goals of different levels.
it may be useful to look at the argument in another light.
ReplyDeletewhat makes it so hard to accept a woman as a credible leader? the followers of the leader must accept that leader's legitimacy.
my point for you to think about is, although women make good leaders, although more capable leaders benefit society as a whole, why don't we see more of it?
is it because the followers, men and women, do not see the woman as a credible leader? if that is true, there is no point in arguing that women make good leaders.
the followers do not agree.
