To what extent is Singapore a family-friendly society?

An apparent sign of singapore being a family-friendly society would be that families are encouraged to interact in a healthy manner with their valued members, all of course with implementation of policies to curb the problem of lack of communications within family members. As Singapore works towards greater prosperity and development, two working parents form the majority of Singapore's family structure rather than the much conventional sole-bread winner way of earning for the family. This would mean that a large time of the single member of the family would be spent out of their family boundary. To reduce the limiting time factor of interaction between families, the government has come up with measures and policies to curb this problem. The " Eat with your family day " is one policy that the government implemented to beef up communication between family members, which takes place every year in one of the designated Fridays in May. Families are to go home early for dinner. Also, the " Five day week work " policy are aimed to promote families getting together in weekends. However, although time are given to families to interact with each other, some of the family members may not value the importance of being with the family and may choose to prioritize other events. For instance, although the the Eat with your family day has been implemented, not every family has taken part in this event, which goes to show how much some value kinship. Singaporeans have a choice to take part in such event or not, which further limit the effectiveness of such policies. Thus, although there are policies to strengthen family ties, limitations still stand.
